Seeing Things

In this series I am working in the space between something that transcends time, nature’s perpetual movement, and the perception of it in real time. Gestural images lie inside stacked horizontal slices and are separated by bands of neutral color. Our brain objectifies and deconstructs nature’s perpetual movement by “framing” it. I seek to grasp something of the cinematic quality of stop-motion by combining the seamlessness of perception with the disruption of time within a deliberate compositional formality.
